Good, but not for me. Long waits, food is so-so. BUT they do have the biggest bottle of wine ever! And there have been times people are being hoisted up in the air on their chairs while I have been there...Mafia? hmmm

What I love most about Buca is that the food is always very consistent. It doesn't matter where you are in the country...the apple gorgonzola salad and macaroni rosa comes out EXACTLY the same. And what's more, I can always count on seeing funky pictures on the walls (especially the bathrooms), the photo of nuns on bumper cars, and the Pope's head on the lazy susan.

For a chain restaurant, Buca deserves credit for maintaining a good dining experience at all of its locations. Few can create such an over-the-top atmosphere throughout the country, and for the price you pay, the portions, service, and dining environment are great.

I haven't had any meals here that have impressed me a bit.  The food seems to be prepared in haste. It is fast Italian.

I really like the pizza here.  Generous portions mean that you may have to bring home some containers of food.

This is a chain restaurant, and it might seem a bit over-the-top with its stuff-on-the-walls ambiance, and it can seem a bit noisy and crowded--but that is the style they offer.  Also, don't come here if you are in a hurry or have to be at a show or event within two hours of entering here.

In the past, it has been so crowded that you might have to wait for a table.  I would NOT recommend waiting very long if there is a line or if they tell you a time to wait, as the time they tell you may not be very accurate.  I also would recommend that you NOT make telephone "reservations," as you will find it is not actually a reservation.

Average Chain restaurant. WIll do in a pinch, but no real reason to go here.  In fact I don't know why it should even be included here!

First impression: I thought it looked like an Italian Applebees, with all the stuff on the wall. The thing that makes it stand out from an ordinary chain place is that you don't order your own food- you order with 2-5 others and then share. If you have a big enough party, you can split up into teams and face off. Another plus is the kitchen table, which is seriously IN THE KITCHEN. Whenever a server brings an order past, they show it to you and tell you what it is,  which is way better than actually reading the menu. So as a college kid going out to eat with a group of friends, it was perfect;  if that isn't your situation, however,  you can find much better in Milwaukee (even though the garlic bread rocks the casbah!).

This is one of the few Italian restaurants my husband's mother will agree to eat, since it's one of the few that measures up to her home-cooked Italian meal standards. The real claim to fame here is the family-style eating. So you really are best served if you go with a large group and can sample many different dishes. I particularly enjoy their spinach-artichoke dip as an antipasto; their salads are no sad iceberg, but rather very flavorful, fresh romaine; their green beans with olive oil and lemons are amazingly fresh, and cooked to perfect crisp-tenderness; and all the main dish entrees I've eaten there have been fantastic. Tonight was the first time in a long time I'd been back to eat, and they've updated their menu with a new dessert: an apple crostata with ice cream and caramel drizzle that was heavenly--despite the fact that I was already stuffed. So even if you're only there as a pair, it's worth ordering a lot, since they allow you to take home whatever is left over.

Beyond all that, the service was friendly and the pace of delivery was spot on, with enough of a pause between platters that you had a bit of a digestive breather, and were therefore in a better position to enjoy what came next.
