My girlfriend and I ate there last night; I got a half rack of ribs. The ribs were very tender, and the sauce was good, there just wasn't enough of it. If you get ribs there, get more sauce on the side. We also got the Chips and Salsa; she and I are connoisseurs of Chips and Salsa and these were among the best I've had. She got a pulled pork BBQ sandwich and the sweet potato fries and said they were more than adequate.
I was very pleased with the service as our waiter was very personable, and checked back with us several times throughout the meal. Both of us ate for $35 w/tip.
The worst food and drinks I've experienced in a long time. I ordered the Ropa Vieja and it tasted like babequed beef. My Mojito, I have no idea what they brought me but it wasn't a Mojito. Now the avocado salsa and flour chips were passable. The service is prompt and friendly and the decor is fun. However I would never recommend Edgar's to anyone.
I had a wonderful experience at this restaurant. The decor is bright and cheerful. The thatched Tiki bar is really cool and I could literally stare a the wall paintings all evening. The bartender was friendly and struck up an easy conversation with our party. Once we were seated a young waiter came up and greeted us. He had a wonderfully easy going sense of humor and checked back with us many times through out the night to make sure we didn't need anything. The food was really good. What I ordered:
Tostones: These were a little on the disappointing side. They were a little tough and dry and the Creamy Garlic Sauce looked and tasted like ketchup and mayo. There was no zing or garlic taste to it.
Seafood Fritters: Very tender and delicate and HUGE! They had a nice flavor to them and were nicely pan fried on the outside and moist on the inside.
Donut Holes: Piping hot, light as air and melt in your mouth delicious. They were fresh and slightly sweet and the raspberry dipping sauce was a perfect complement to these little bites of heaven. Too good to be true.
I went to Edgar's Calypso for lunch this week for the first time and I was pleased with it. I had the jerk sandwich. Meat was juicy and flavorful, and the jerk seasoning was just right. Presentation and service A-OK. All around a decent place to eat, and I'll definitely check it out for dinner sometime.

Good unique place... inside is bright and fun. We had a weekday lunch, place was pretty empty so service was good and fast. I tried the salad w/apples & pecans. Very good, the pecans had an unexpected spicy flavor. Raspberry vinegratte was tasty. The best was my drink, the Arnold Palmer was not only cute but very good. Definately want to go back and try some appetizers!
Upon entering, you'll find a bar has a thatch canopy and bar stools painted in vivid colors. And the infectious rhythm of reggae will immediately put you in the mood for a Red Stripe beer. The food reflects the Caribbean's British, French and Spanish islands with fritters combining conch with shrimp and crab; tostones ($5.95), slices of deep fried plantain resembling a large banana, though not as sweet; and a Jamaican jerk whose tender pork helps compensate for the lack of a wood-fired stove, a problem with local restaurants trying to replicate that distinctive island dish.
