The lunch buffet is definitely above average--not because of the quantity of the items, but because the vegetarian and meat dishes are seasoned properly. Nothing is intensely spiced, but neither is it a pale and bland imitation. You'll know you are eating a vindaloo because of its vinegary tang. You can also find items not on the dinner menu, such as ootappam. These small lentil cakes topped with minced tomato, pepper and onion are a novel delight.

We popped in here for a quick dinner before a movie, in search of deliciousness.  The place was pretty empty for a Saturday night, but it seemed like many places over here were kind of empty, so maybe it was because it was St. Patrick's Day or everyone was staying at home.  In any case, the waitress gave us more attention than she would have if it had been busier, which was nice.  She was really patient with us trying to figure out what we would like, since we were going vegetarian.

I didn't think the food was all that great, and especially for the price, Indian places always seem to give you really small dishes.  I mean, I think my lentil dish was like $9, and it was basically just a small bowl of lentils.  I'm sure they made something like 1000% profit on that one.  My friend's dish of some okra thing was also pretty uninspiring to me.  I couldn't even tell if the okra had been fresh or frozen, and I'm leaning towards frozen, since it tasted like cooked frozen okra.  Also a dish of about $9, if not a little more.

The appetizers were better, some samosas and those little fried cheese squares.  I'll have to give this place the benefit of the doubt and bet that the meat entrees taste better, since they're probably targeting a more gringo audience in this neighborhood.  Also, sounds like the buffet is nice... I'm just not all that into buffets.  I'd rather just save my attempts at finding good Indian restaurants to Devon Avenue in Chicago and then maybe London, whenever I manage to find myself there again.

I stopped in for the lunch buffet and enjoyed a great meal.  The food was fresh-tasting, piping hot on the serving tables, and delicious.  There was plenty of different dishes to choose from.  Fresh bread served at the table and attentive service made me feel comfortable and welcomed. Topped off with mango ice cream and mango pudding.  $9.45 + tip.  A great place to stop for a nice mid-day feast on the East Side.

I'm only giving this place 3 stars because the lunch buffet is enjoyable.

The dinner menu is way overpriced.

The seekh kebabs were dry, and obviously not freshly made.

The prices are outrageous, especially considering the tiny portions.

Staple indian dishes are mysteriously absent from the menu (matoor paneer?!! began bhartha? raj ma?! Veg Pakora?! Puri? CHAPATI?!)

The paneer is not home made.

The goat curries have more bones than meat.

They do not give free refills on soda.

They do not offer any Thali or set menu to alleviate the burden of their outrageously high prices.

I do not recommend coming here for anything other than the lunch buffet, which offers a nice variety and different dishes every day.
