I had the buffet lunch here.  The Thai pizza was very good, but it was cold.  Very limited selection of food was offered on the lunch buffet table, and some of the food was cold and not strictly fresh-tasting.  $8.43 + tip.  A OK choice if you are in the Cathedral Square area but not worth a special trip.

This is by far the best thai restaurant in the city.

The menu is so big it may seem intimidating to the lesser minded patrons, but everything is excellent.

The ingredients are of superior quality, and it really comes through in their dishes.

The Tom Yum Goong is absolutely fantastic here.  No other Thai restaurant in the area comes close to it.  Fresh herbs are generously used to top this soup off, and it works wonders to cut the sourness and heat of the dish.  The only place I've had better Tom Yum was in Bangkok, but I don't think it would be fair to compare a Thai restaurant in Milwaukee to the 'real' thing.

The chicken bird's nest is also a nice treat, and the use of fresh vegetables and high quality chicken meat leads to a dish that's pleasing to the eyes, texturally interesting, as well as delicious.

The only thing which keeps me from going exclusively to Singha for my thai fix is the absolutely awful parking situation in the area.  It's worth the (slightly) higher prices, and the extensive menu will keep you coming back for months.

P.S.  anyone who goes to a thai restaurant for a buffet should not be writing reviews of restaurants on the internet.  ;)

This and EE Sane on Farwell are the two best Thai places in MIlwaukee. Good food, good service, great atmosphere.

One of our country's greatest assets is its cultural diversity. We welcome aspects of other cultures and then assimilate them into our own. Do they lose authenticity along the way? Without a doubt.

Take Thai food for example. In general, our delicate Western tongues (and digestive systems) aren't crazy about certain common Thai ingredients, like crazy-hot chilies and the potent and aromatic fish sauces and pastes. In an act of culinary Darwinism, restaurants that adapt to specific societal pressures tend to survive and have the ability to pass on their genetic traits (i.e. recipes) in the form of a second restaurant. Case in point: Singha Thai II. Since opening its doors in West Allis in 1989, Singha Thai has experienced a great amount of success, enabling sisters Noi Vechsathol and Moonie Douangmala to open their family's second restaurant in East Town last year.

Overall Review 6 of 10
This was a random dinner out. We went to a church meeting and then decided to stay downtown for dinner. We stumbled across this place and decided to give ti a try. The place was a bit odd, but the food was good, albeit inconsistent. Service was quick and with a smile, and the price was on par for what we expected.

What We Had 8 of 10
This is probably the best Thai food we have had in Milwaukee. The food was pretty good. It wasn't orange and oily like the others places in Milwaukee. This was just right. HOWEVER, it was quite inconsistent. Cathy and I, like always, ordered the same thing: Pad Thai. When the food came the spice level was totally different. Mine had almost no spice at all, while hers was nearly unbearable. We both ordered medium. The appetizer we ordered, spring rolls, was really weird, and we don't recommend it.

Atmosphere 5 of 10
This place is really big for downtown, and has a front and back room. We thin it is too big for our comfort. The place was a bit stoic too. All in all, it was nicer then a regular place, but lacked any character.

Others
Really not anything important to mention here. Parking was easy; I mean downtown Milwaukee on a week night has never really been too difficult. It was clean. Not very memorable, really.
