What kinds of food do you like to eat? I mean there are loads of places to choose from, but every person has his or her individual tastebuds so it's quite hard to just 'recommend' some place if we do not know you. If you tell us which restaurants you like, it might be easier to recommend some place to you.

I'm fairly open to trying new things, with the stipulation that I'm vegetarian.  I'm a Thai fan, good Greek seems to be hard to find..Italian is good but rarely anything 'special' that we can't make at home.  Japanese is something we only do very occasionally, mostly considering the price, and the lack of many vegetarian options.  And of course can't go wrong with Mexican.  Nothing TOO spicy, but if they have something tasty and vegetarian, I'm willing to try it :)

Melanie, see if you can get some of your friends to write a few reviews.  They will gradually pull in friends and aquaintances from work, etc. and the next thing you know you've built up a little cell of Yelpies down there.  Good luck--I hardly ever get to San Jose, I'm sure there are some things I could learn!

Melanie, also check out Jeannette S's reviews, as well as Anita's.  I think you have a link to Anita's huge list of reviews, but here is how to get to Jeanette's page:

Also, try doing a few searches with nothing listed in the keywords area, but list Santa Clara and make sure the distance is set out to like 25 miles, and you should see some things come up for the entire valley.  Still, nothing succeeds like success, and the more people you get hooked on Yelp, the better.  Tell your friends if you are having fun and you'll soon be joined.

Jeannette is great! We belong to this group called Meet In San Jose and both of us LOVE to eat plus we both live in the South Bay. I know Connie goes to some veggie places so she is a good lead as well. Good luck!

Yes you may add me! OF course! Well I used to live in Millbrae so we go up to SF a lot. Now we live in the South Bay so yeah we do get around quite a bit, esp. for great food!
